A locally owned and operated company, Central Glass & Aluminium was founded in 2012 by Michael Knox and Damian Ellison.
Both Michael and Damian are qualified glaziers with over 50 years combined experience in the glass industry, starting out as apprentices and working their way up to management roles for leading companies in New Zealand’s glass industry.
Michael and Damian are well known for their vast technical knowledge of products, processes, and glazing techniques. In 2014 the business diversified into aluminium joinery, fabricating the Omega suite of residential windows and doors.
This complementary offering of glass, glazing and aluminium joinery has seen Central Glass & Aluminium grow 10-fold, securing their position as a market leader in the industry.
To meet continued demand from customers in the wider Manawatu region, Feilding Glass & Aluminium was established in 2025.
A diverse customer base of homeowners, developers, property managers, retirement villages and government agencies, Central Glass & Aluminium services the Central and Lower North Island.

Damian
Director

Damian is a founding director of Central Glass & Aluminium, a qualified Glazier, with excellent technical knowledge and a passion for design. Damian enjoys collaborating with architects, builders, and homeowners, bringing clarity and precision to every project, ensuring form, function, and aesthetic are perfectly aligned.
When not in the office, you’ll find Damian on the mountain bike track with his two children, spending time at the beach, or travelling the world.

Michael
Director
​
Michael is a founding director of Central Glass & Aluminium, a qualified Glazier, with strong technical aptitude and a practical thinker, finding custom solutions for your glass, glazing & aluminium joinery projects. When Michael can escape the office, you’ll find him on-site or in the factory, applying his craft and sharing his vast knowledge with the team.

Outside of work, Michael is kept busy running his sheep and beef farm, cheering on his four children at their multiple sports, and is a keen hunter and fisherman.

Kylie
Business Manager
​
Kylie is a Chartered Accountant with a background in public practice and business management, balancing the books of the Central Glass & Aluminium since its inception in 2012. Kylie thrives on implementing systems, optimising resources, and streamlining workflow to ensure an efficient service for our customers, whilst also striving to foster a positive and supportive work environment.

When Kylie is not in the office, she’s out supporting her four busy children with their numerous sports and activities, enjoying a wine with friends, at Book Club, or out running.

Chris
Business Development​
​
Chris is a qualified glazier whose extensive hands-on experience gives him a practical understanding of the glazing and aluminium joinery industry. Chris is responsible for building strong relationships with new and existing customers, and ensuring every enquiry receives the right advice from the outset. He works closely with customers to scope glazing and joinery projects, providing practical solutions and maintaining clear communication throughout the process. He also keenly manages the company’s health and safety compliance.
When Chris is not at work, you’ll find him enjoying time with his family, participating in roller-sports, or providing volunteer support to community organisations.

Mitchell
Production Supervisor

Mitch is a qualified Aluminium Joiner, with significant experience in the industry, including roles in fabrication and management. He is passionate about improving productivity, accuracy and precision throughout the fabrication process, and passing on his knowledge to the team.
​
Outside of work you can usually find Mitch playing footy, out on the water with his mates, or down at his local for a beer.

Marie
Estimator
Marie is a qualified Estimator, and the longest serving employee at Central Glass & Aluminium. She has a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of glass and aluminium joinery. Marie thrives in helping customers find cost-savings within their window designs, achieving the desired outcome for the best price.
If she is not in the office, Marie can be found reading, gardening or arranging her Christmas light and decoration displays.

Mark
Installer

Mark is a Licenced Building Practitioner with numerous years’ experience, including running his own construction company building commercial, residential and rural buildings, as well as renovation projects. Mark has a keen eye for detail and excellent workmanship ensuring all window installations are finished to the highest standard.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, often put to work on their various building projects!

Deo
Factory Supervisor

Deo is a qualified Aluminium Joiner. Operating the CNC, he brings a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise. Deo oversees every stage of fabrication ensuring quality and precision, continuous improvement, and workflow efficiency so every project is delivered in full, on time, every time.
​
Outside of work Deo enjoys spending time with his wife and son and playing footy with his mates.

Mike
Factory Supervisor

Mike is a qualified Aluminium Joiner and Installer with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. As Factory Supervisor, he leads the fabrication team, sharing his extensive knowledge, mentoring apprentices, and fostering a culture of quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement. Renowned for his exceptional attention to detail and ability to engineer practical solutions to complex challenges, Mike ensures every project is manufactured and delivered in full, on time, every time.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys restoring vehicles, tackling construction and woodworking projects, and supporting his daughter at her sporting events.

Charmaine
Glazing Supervisor
Charmaine is a qualified glazier with specialist expertise in frameless glazing, and a passion for delivering high-quality, custom solutions. With a strong focus on customer experience, she ensures your project is managed from concept to completion. Charmaine manages the glazing team, schedules projects, and trains apprentices, sharing her substantial technical knowledge with the team. Charmaine was awarded The Allan Sage Apprentice of the Year Award in 2022 and also works as a tutor at the Glass & Glazing Institute of New Zealand.
Outside of work, Charmaine enjoys playing softball and netball, gaming on PlayStation, and entertaining friends with homemade woodfire pizzas and cocktails.

Lauren is the friendly face of Feilding Glass & Aluminium. With several years’ experience in office management and logistics, she keeps everything running smoothly. Highly organised with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail, Lauren ensures your project is competitively priced, efficiently scheduled, and delivered with exceptional customer service.

In her free time, you’ll catch Lauren reeling in the winning fish in our local fishing competitions, camping, and spending time with her husband and two adult children.
